Since the launch of Melanoboost® Peptide Sun Tanning Oil, the sun tanning industry has been introduced to a new term 'melanin boosting' which has set the benchmark for the future of sun-tanning and sent the industry into overdrive with claims of same.
This is no surprise to us here at Melanoboost® HQ as the technology has taken us years to perfect, and the results speak volumes!
With 'melanin boosting' claims now jumping out from everywhere, it's important to know what 'melanin boosting' actually is so you can properly understand what your sun tanning oil is doing and if and how it is doing what is claimed.
Read on to find out how Melanoboost® has paved the way for faster, darker tanning through the use of peptides...
Melanin is the pigment which makes our skin tan and is produced by cells called melanocytes. Melanin synthesis usually only occurs when our bodies are exposed to UV light. The higher the melanin levels in the skin, the darker you can tan.
Melanoboost® Peptide Complex is a unique combination of active ingredients powered by peptides to promote higher concentrations of melanin in the skin with very little UV exposure.
It is this use of PEPTIDES that differentiates Melanoboost® from other sun tanning oils, and what makes its performance so ground breaking - Accelerated tanning at its best! This brand new peptide technology is exclusive to Melanoboost® and is changing the way people tan.
Apply Melanoboost® Peptide Sun Tanning Oil before UV exposure to help boost melanin levels and activate the tanning process, then use it during short bursts of UV exposure for accelerated tanning results. Just 10-15 minutes is all it takes to start seeing the difference Melanoboost® makes!
As everyone tans differently, results will differ from person to person. The depth and darkness you can achieve will depend on your individual skin tone and natural sun tanning ability.
We do of course always recommend the use of sunscreen when spending any time in the sun. Apply sunscreen after you have applied your Melanoboost® Peptide Sun Tanning Oil.
Regular sun tan oils like coconut oil don't contain any significant active ingredients therefore don't boost melanin. When you apply regular coconut oil and lay in the sun for extended periods, it is the UV from the sun that stimulates melanin synthesis, not the oil. Coconut oils may benefit the skin with moisturising properties, but don't actually help to darken your tan. Prolonged sun exposure is also never advisable. We've explained this a little bit further in our "Coconut Sun Tan Oils & Why You Should Upgrade To Melanoboost" blog.
If you're serious about tanning and care about skin health, then it's time to take a balanced approach to UV exposure. Minimum Sun - Maximum tan = Melanoboost®

Melanoboost® uses intelligent technologies designed to boost the body’s natural production of melanin for optimised tanning results.
We all love a rich, dark sun tan, and many of us with fairer complexions are often envious of those with skin types that seem to tan quickly and easily. So what’s their secret? Higher concentrations of melanin – These skin types have a greater abundance of melanin, while fairer skin types have less.
